However, the largest addition to today's update are fourteen pages of new videos and audios, including interviews with and presentations by many notable Shroud scholars. This update also includes twenty new papers, links to many new internet articles, six recently published books, links to several important new Shroud websites and much more. We have also added six more issues to the Collegamento pro Sindone archive and have included news of the latest issue of Sindon. Next is a feature article on all the permanent Shroud Exhibits in North America. We lead off with the sad news of the passing of Larry Schwalbe, original STURP team member from Los Alamos National Laboratory. In fact, that is why our Spring update has been delayed so long that it has now become our Summer update! As you will see, there is an extraordinary amount of new material for you to digest. The only difference is that this year, the amount of information that came out about the Shroud is an order of magnitude greater than any update before it.
Well, after today's update, all those previous claims are totally invalid! Without doubt, today's update is far and away the largest we have ever published! The Lenten season has historically been our busiest time of year, and this year was no exception. Until evidence of another likely possibility is shown, we must rely on the evidence we have found.On more than one occasion in the past few years, I have written here that our current website update is the largest in the long history of this site. In scientific terms, we admittedly have not “proved” our case, but the evidence peculiarly points to this place and this time. We say “strongly suggests” because we cannot exclude all other possibilities.
This explanation strongly suggests that the image was produced by the body of a crucified man in first-century Judea-and that this body had the characteristics reflected on the shroud. We believe we may have now found a naturalistic explanation for the formation of the image of the crucified man on the Shroud of Turin. But the arsenals of modern science have done nothing but destroy the easy answers: Easy answers will not do. If we knew less, we could assume more we could suppose a host of easy answers-like painting. Moreover, modern science deepens, rather than allays, the mystery. Even the skeptics have been unable to explain how the image on the Shroud of Turin was created.
